Born in London and raised in New Zealand, Helena's first short film, Harry and Peter in Love won Best Art Direction at the New York Short Film Festival.

Her second, Nothing Special, was nominated for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, won Best Short Film at the Cinéma des Antipodes, selected for competition at film festivals worldwide and bought for broadcast by Canal Plus and SBS.

She is currently represented by Ridley Scott's RSA Films and Flying Fish for commercials while writing her first feature film.
